Referee Courses

NZ Football has developed a new learning platform called NZF Learn.

NZF Learn is an online learning platform that will be the home for Coach and Referee Education for football in Aotearoa New Zealand.

It provides online modules for coaches and referees that can be completed from the comfort of your own home, allowing you to learn about key concepts before bringing the learning to life on the field or court.

The Referee Community and Level 1 courses are now combined for Football and Futsal, as many of the skills cross over in both disciplines. It’s a good idea to complete the content for both. All you need to do to complete qualification is by attending the face to face practical sessions. Football and Futsal will have separate sessions, so if you only want qualification in one of these, just skip past the content online for the other discipline.

All courses are FREE.

HOW TO ACCESS THE ONLINE COURSES ON NZF LEARN

  1. Click here to see all NZF Learn Referee Courses . If you don’t have an NZF Learn account yet, you'll be prompted to create one. Please note; Only one person is able create an NZF Learn account per email address (families cannot use one email address for the whole family).
  2. If you need to attend a face to face session (Level One course), you will need to register for that separately. At the moment, that option doesn't seem to be available, so you will be notified.

REFEREE COURSES

NZ Football has developed a new learning platform called NZF Learn.

The courses cater for four different levels of the game, from Game leaders y play as they move up in age, starting at 4 year olds playing First Kicks.

LEVEL ONE REFEREE FOOTBALL/FUTSAL AWARD (ONLINE VERSION)

This course has been developed for the NZF online platform and covers both Football Referee and Futsal Referee. With many having less time to spend 10-12 hours at a face to face course, this is now the more preferred option for most and the smaller referee centres, but also for the people who are likely to take up refereeing. You can do most of the course at home, in your own time. The date set for the course is the only session you physically attend a session with an instructor. This session will be about 3 hours in duration and includes the last couple of modules (including an outdoor session), discussion on other parts of the course and refereeing in general. Ideally you should have completed the online part of the course before the date of the offline part for which you registered.

The course will be available to everyone as soon as they logon to the NZF Learn web site. The face to face session is what you need to register for and attend to be accredited as a Level 1 referee and for those who want to become referees.

For any quesries, please  email Wayne Stapley.
