The Canterbury United Pride Skill Centre provides a regional hub for talent development. The Skill Centre focuses on solely establishing and developing key football habits with sessions specifically designed to affect all areas of the player’s development in a positive way.
Starting with players at ages 9, 10, 11 & 12, the Skill Centre complements existing club and school football programmes by adding focused training hours with specialist coaching for players, offering a unique set of advantages:
- A programme to systematically develop the individual player
- Consistent national curriculum to prepare players to cope with the modern game
- Coaches who are specifically trained and experienced in developing talented junior & youth players
- Players’ progress continually assessed
- Weekly training sessions and an extended programme of development throughout the year
- A clear pathway into Canterbury United Pride Development & Youth Programmes.
The Skill Centre has been modelled on successful talent development programmes around the world.
