
Mainland Football are excited to have Des Buckingham visiting the region later this week and early next week. Des is the current Head Coach of the New Zealand Men's U20 and New Zealand Men's U23 National Teams, as well as an Assistant Coach for the New Zealand All Whites. Des has a wealth of useful experience that he is going to share during his visit. We are pleased to have the following educational events for our local players and coaches to attend.
Future Players Evening
Mainland Football wish to invite any aspiring Youth age players (13-19 years) and their parents, to English Park on Sunday, August 11th at 6.30pm. Players will have an opportunity to hear from Des on what is required to represent New Zealand. There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers. Interested players need to register their interest at the link below. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday evening.
Coach Education Evening
Mainland Football will be hosting a Coach Education Workshop on Monday, August 12th from 6.30-9.00pm. Des Buckingham will present a workshop on "Developing our Identity" and will focus on the recent New Zealand Men's Under 20 World Cup and New Zealand Men's Under 23 Pacific Games campaigns. From 7.30pm, Des will be working on the training pitch with our Mainland 16's Boys FTC group. Coaches will have an opportunity to watch Des run the session and observe his coaching.
