Mainland Football has now set up a page on our website dedicated to The Centre Circle where you can find more information about the organisation, their events and how to get involved.
The Centre Circle (CC) was founded in 1999 by a group of football people wanting to give back to the “beautiful game” that gave them so much. The organisation is focused on raising funds through social events and grants and utilising those funds to assist those in the Canterbury football community.
“Centre Circle thanks Martin Field Dodgson and his team for enabling us to set up our page on the Mainland Football Website,” said Bobby Almond, Chairperson for The Centre Circle. “This allows us to profile our organisation to the community and particularly the clubs that are the heart of football in Canterbury. Our aim is to gain further support for our charity, through our golf and quiz events throughout each year as well as special gala dinners, such as the Steve Sumner Memorial Dinner held in 2019.
A new annual funding budget called Helping Hand has been created where clubs can apply for grants and financial support towards community projects and programs that generate more football opportunities for young people in the region.
Mainland Football CEO Martin Field Dodgson was pleased to confirm the partnership between the federation and The Centre Circle, stating “Mainland Football are grateful to have an organisation like Centre Circle who are committed to supporting our local community with a focus on our young people playing football. We are delighted to be working with them on this.”
