Road to Lithuania - Chris Sinclair FIFA Futsal World Cup Update

Newly appointed Futsal Development Officer Chris Sinclair and Central Football's Antony Riley have travelled to the Continental Futsal Championships in Thailand before the 2021 Lithuania Futsal World Cup in September.

Here's an update on what their days have been like so far:
Day 10-14: Over the past five days, we have completed our 14 days MIQ. During this time, we have had to adapt our training type to suit the space in the hotel room. This has included HIIT Training workouts, core and yoga type exercises.

Day 15: Today, we finalised our paperwork and had the green light to move from the MIQ hotel into our apartment, which is our home for the next four weeks. We settled in and managed to find two training areas available - the rooftop of the building we are staying in and another large concrete area across the road from the apartment. With the current pandemic, the facilities such as gyms, pools and parks are closed. We are lucky as there is a grocery store 400m away, which we can kit up with our masks on and visit to gather supplies.

Day 16-18: Speed Endurance, Fartlek, Core, HIIT, Stairs, Agility and Foot Work Drills are just a few sessions we have smashed out over the past few days. With the temperature averaging around 34 degrees throughout the day, we have quickly realised the best time for our training sessions is either early morning around 7:00 am or late evening after 7:00 pm, where the temperature is a little more comfortable at 25-27 degrees (haha).
