Weekend Preview: Promotion Play-offs

All The Work Ahead Of Waimak In 2nd Leg Of Promotion Play-offs

Waimak will have to pull out all the stops if they are to overturn the four-goal advantage Wanaka hold after winning the 1st Leg 5 - 1, last weekend when the two clubs go head-to-head at Kendall Park at 2:45 pm on Sunday.

It was the first time that Waimak has conceded that many goals this season, and they will have to score early to wrestle some advantage back over the Central Otago side and then keep attacking to try and wipe out the goal deficit on aggregate at the end of the 90 minutes.

Wanaka showed in the 1st Leg that they are handy in front of goal and for every goal that Waimak conceded the task will get harder and harder, which points to Wanaka being the favourites to take the play-off series and then apply to play of the Southern League in 2025 if New Zealand Football agree they meet the licencing requirements.

Southern League Promotion Play-off 1st Leg:
Wanaka 5
Waimak 1
HT 2 - 0
