Mainland Football has been proud to partner with Wellington Phoenix and New Zealand Football to support player and coach development in 2025.

As part of NZ Football’s High Performance Plan, Wellington Phoenix has launched initiatives to enhance Talent Development Programmes, coaching quality, and player pathways across the region.

The Wellington Phoenix/NZF Learning Hub on NZF Learn has delivered 8 online coaching events since February, offering 120 CPD points to local coaches through live and webinar formats.

In Christchurch, a Phoenix-led Development Centre now provides additional training and support for top male 2010/11 age group players, complementing their TDP environments and ensuring Phoenix oversight.

Additionally, the Player of Interest Program offers selected players a High Performance pathway beyond their regular commitments, including mental skills, performance psychology, strength & conditioning, and lifestyle support.

Heading into its second year, the program continues to evolve, helping Canterbury’s top talent reach their potential and pursue future international opportunities.
