2021 Mainland Football Referee Awards


Three generations of referee's - Mike, Jack and Zack Killick

On the 2nd of October, the Canterbury referees had their awards evening to celebrate a successful 2021 season. While the 2021 season was once again a unique one, there were still plenty to smile about. One of the highlights of the night was the celebration and presentation made to Jack in recognition of his 40 years service to refereeing. He then presented Zack with the Most Promising 1st Year Youth Referee trophy. 

Zack starred on Seven Sharp earlier in the season in a promotion of the New Zealand Football Foundation Green Shirt Campaign, a great initiative supporting new referees.  

The award recipients are as follows:

2021 Quiz Champion - Mark Currie

2021 Most Promising 1st Year Youth Referee - Zack Killick

 

 

2021 Most Improved 1st or 2nd Year Level 4 Referee - Ralph Clink

2021 Administrator Award - Aaron Nottage (Apparel Manager) 

 

 

2021 Most Improved non-MPL Assistant Referee - Aiden van der Kroon

2021 Most Improved Referee Below Level 4 - Iain Marshall

 

 

2021 Futsal Referee of the Year - Chris Sinclair

2021 Most Enthusiastic Referee - Regan Preston (Fitness Training Coordinator)

2021 Most Improved Level 4 Referee Overall - Caleb Downes 

2021 Young Referee of the Year - Under 20 - Aiden van der Kroon

 

 

2021 Referee's Assessor of the Year - Paul Dalziel

2021 Non-MPL Referee Contribution - Owen Wylie 

2021 Best Referee of Women's Football - Michael Field 

 

 

2021 Referee's Referee of the Year - Craig Duff

2021 Assistant Referee of the Year - Mike Killick

2021 Referee of the Year - Chris Sinclair
