Wong selected for NZ U17 Squad

8 October 2009

Following the U17 Women’s Squad Identification Camp held last week in Auckland New Zealand Football (NZF) has selected a squad of 25 players to play in the National Women’s League.

Congratulations must go to Hannah Wong for her selection to the squad of 25.

Although Mainland Pride will lose her services throughout the NWL matches our best wishes and support go with her as she embarks on this wonderful opportunity.

The process of naming the final squad for the Oceania qualifier is as follows:

NWL squad & wider squad to be monitored

Review of both squads and the announcement of a 2010 training squad

February 2010 – Auckland/Waikato players in the squad will train 3-4 times per week and will play regular games

Players outside of Auckland/Waikato will be prescribed a programme to support their development and will have the option of relocating to Auckland depending on what is best for the player’s holistic needs.

A final squad for the Oceania qualifiers will be named in mid March 2010.

We trust Hannah will do herself proud towards future selection. Go Wongy!
