Overview
Coaching is an exciting, challenging and ultimately rewarding pursuit and good coaches are also a vital ingredient in the enjoyment and development of players. Mainland Football is committed to developing coaches within the federation (Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Mid-Canterbury).
Mainland Football facilitates a number of development programmes from Fun Football Centres to Holiday Programmes within the Whole of Football Plan (WOFP). The coaches involved in these programmes are the vital ingredient to the developmental success of our junior players. Mainland Football is constantly on the search for coaches to be involved in the following programmes:
- Fun Football Centres: 5-10yr olds. These are 8 week blocks during the school terms (organised by Mainland Football)
- Holiday Programmes: 7-11yr olds. These are run during the School holiday breaks during the day (organised by Mainland Football and accredited providers)
- Representative Junior South Island Tournament team: These are representative squads that play against other South Island regional based Representative teams. (organised by Mainland Football)
- The Junior Framework (WOFP): This is run through the clubs in the normal winter competition find a club
